Born in the Netherlands, Dr. Michael D. Abramoff, MD, PhD, is an internationally renowned neuroscientist, fellowship-trained retina specialist, entrepreneur and computer engineer. He is Founder and Executive Chairman of Digital Diagnostics (formerly IDx), the first company ever to receive FDA clearance for an autonomous AI diagnostic system. He is also the Watzke Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa.
